JD &Tudd,
Any ideas where to place the field music in formation. I do know, at least in Casey's, Hardee's, and Scott's, that the field music would be placed 12 paces behind the flankers; that is at least in line of battle.Tudd, what about Hardee's revised, any idea?
JD: What group of songs do you want to play? Let me know what songs you are familiar with, and I'll go ahead and start getting down the extras. Shoot me an e-mail at Longds@montreat.edu |

In regimental battle line the field music is placed behind the line of file closers, to the left of the QM sgt. and in front of the band itself.

Hardees revised, Hardees, Caseys are all the same. It is all Hardees. Even the 1863 U.S. manual is written with Hardees as the guide _________________ Tudd |

On the march and marching into battle etc musicians are always ahead of the company. _________________ JD Mayo
